Stoneage Granite and Marble

During the process, we will make a pattern of your cabinets and countertop areas. We ask that you have the existing countertops cleared off, this will help us to finish the template and measure efficiently, and will also protect your items from any dust or damage.

During this phase:

  • All sinks, faucets, and cooktops are checked for compatibility and fit.

  • Cabinets are reviewed for any needed adjustments.

  • Countertop overhang, general support, seam placement, and personal preferences are discussed. If there are any changes required prior to installation, we will notify you.

Product information

During installation, your sink will be mounted under your stone (unless otherwise discussed). We ask that you do not plumb in or use the sink in any way for at least 12 hours. Please keep this in mind when scheduling your plumber to reconnect water and drain. Also, cooktops and faucets will be dropped into place for confirmation of fit. Below is a list of information we require prior to the fabrication process. We will request this information when we come to do a final measure of your countertops.

  • Sink choice (sink will be brought to shop to ensure perfect fit)

  • Faucet make and placement

  • Cooktop size and placement

  • Countertop edge preference

Fabrication

Prior to fabrication we encourage you to approve your actual granite slabs. If the drawing submitted for your quote differs from your actual countertop space, we will let you know and adjust the price accordingly.

Tear out

If your project requires that we tear out and remove your existing countertops, we will do so at the time of installation. We will also disconnect your plumbing at this time, so be sure not to use your dishwasher until your plumber has reconnected the water.

Installation

At installation we ask that you clear the work area and make a path through which our installers may carry the product. The installation phase can take a good part of the day, and may require some final cutouts to be made in your home. Some dust may result, though we are equipped to catch most of it. To protect your belongings, we ask the cabinet contents and drawers be removed (especially under the cooktop and sink).

During installation we will set any undermount sinks. Cook tops and faucets will be dropped into place for confirmation of fit. Finally, granite will be sealed at the time of installation.

Once installation is complete it is important not to use the sink in any way for at least 12 hours. Keep this in mind when scheduling your plumber to reconnect the water and drain.

Job Completion

Your inspection of the finished countertops is very important to us. The lead installer will review the installation with you, answer any questions, and ask for payment of the final balance due.
